Now this has to be my favourite time of the year!! Sitting in the garden on a hazy summer day enjoying afternoon tea from a fine China tea set.
You know, every time I start writing a blog to celebrate an awareness day I suddenly start to hear the doubters saying what's the point, it's just another excuse to spend money, eat too much, forced fun...... yeh yeh whatever !!
I love Afternoon Tea and all things Tea Party and Afternoon Tea Week is a great way to celebrate a British tradition and it is a perfect excuse to catch up with loved ones over a cuppa and some fancy cakes.
So this year Afternoon Tea Week starts on the 8th August and runs until the 14th August, there will be tea rooms up and down the country running all kinds of events and discounts to pay tribute to the nation's favourite pastime.
My all time favourite tea room is Richmond Tea Rooms in Manchester, you should check them out, it is very 'Alice in Wonderland' and all their sandwiches, cakes and treats are freshly prepared. It is an amazing delicious experience.
I would love to hear about your favourite afternoon tea, please feel free to comment below your recommendations, your favourite delicacies and of course your favourite tea.
